Introduction

Dursley Sustainable Urban Community

The Agency purchased the 92 acre Lister Petter site in December 2000, which allowed the diesel engine manufacturer to undergo a major restructure.

We completed a formal joint venture agreement with property development and investment Company, St Modwen Properties Plc to redevelop the site as a sustainable mixed use community called Littlecombe. The site will become a sustainable urban community featuring housing, employment premises and leisure facilities.

An exciting plan has been developed which has under gone consultation with the local councillors and the public. A planning application was submitted March 2005 and will be determined by Stroud District Council in line with the emerging Stroud District Local Plan. The Planning Inspector has supported the principle of 600 new houses and acomodation for one thousand jobs. The aim is for the employment accommodation to commence mid 2005 with the housing land being developed 2006 through to 2011.
