Nigel Costley

Nigel Costley is the South West TUC Regional Secretary, representing over half a million members in the region. He is particularly interested in the development of the workforce, boosting skills and earnings. He believes that equal opportunities have to be at the heart of programmes to build a sustainable and successful economy. Nigel started work as an apprentice compositor in the printing trade and retrained many times in a rapidly changing industry. He was elected a full-time trade union officer at the age of 24 and joined the TUC in 1996. He has a Masters degree in Training and Human Resource Management. He lives in the Forest of Dean.
